European Network of Migrant Women website launched

[Brussels, 02 November 2011] The EWL is delighted to announce the launch of the website of the European Network of Migrant Women (ENoMW), the first network for migrant women at the European level: www.migrantwomennetwork.org. The ENoMW was founded in 2010 in the framework of the EWL project "Equal Rights. Equal Voices. Migrant Women in the European Union" and is currently coordinated by the EWL Secretariat.

The website will provide visibility for the network and serve as a networking tool. It will be regularly be updated with activities of the network. The network also has an own facebook account and an RSS feed.

The European Network of Migrant Women (ENoMW) is a European network of non-governmental organisations which represents the concerns, needs and interests of migrant women in the European Union.

The objectives of the Network are:

  • To represent member’s organisations and lobby for and with migrant women to have a stronger voice at the European level
  • To promote equal treatment, equal rights and better integration for migrant women in Europe
  • To provide regular input on all areas of EU policy development and implementation that have an impact on migrant women’s lives
  • To help shape social policies and design action programmes addressing migrant women’s specific needs
  • To support migrant women’s organisations and movements through information and trainings
