European Commission launches campaign against discrimination

[Brussels, 03 May 2012] The European Commission has launched a new advertising campaign aiming to draw attention to discrimination at work and direct people facing discrimination to their national equality body where they can find further information about their rights and seek advice or help. The campaign focuses on discrimination based on age, sexual orientation, religion, ethnic origin and disability.

‘Discrimination is illegal. Fight it.’ comprises print, outdoor and online advertising, in all 23 official languages of the EU. According to the European Commission website, ‘this information campaign works to raise awareness of discrimination and increase understanding of the EU anti-discrimination laws. It also promotes diversity and the benefits that it can bring to European society. Run by the European Commission, the campaign is active in all EU Member States.’
